I'm back! Well I've been back for three days but have yet to blog about it. I took the Greyhound up to Stockton to my cousin's house. My two year old niece was feeling a little sick which led to her throwing up on my bag. It's OK because she said "I'm sooo sorry, Auntie Jenny." How could I not forgive that? The next day we went to Sacramento to pick up my Aunt and began our 18 hour road trip. It took us 24 hours to get there because we stopped over someone's house in Washington for six hours. The first few days we were there it was raining, and I was a little sick. That was very unpleasant. Then we went to Victoria Island and spent most of our time near the beach. We went back to Vancouver and went to all the sightseeing places. Then we went to Blaine, Washington because one of our family friends has a vacation house up there. It was very beautiful. We got to go to the outlets in Washington. I appreciated being in Washington because I got to use my phone without roaming. After Washington, we went for a day trip to Whistler. I would really love to go there one winter and stay at their resort. During our last week in Canada, we spent most of our time going around Vancouver. I got to meet up with Kathryn and watch Transformers. That movie is BOMB! Optimus Prime kicks metal butt! My last day was spent shopping in order for me to get rid of all of the Canadian money I had. Everyone I went to Canada with eventually getting sick. I got sick at the beginning of the trip, but everyone else got sick at the end. But they got sick a lot more than I did. And now I am back from my three week vacation. I bought lots of stuff, but I wish I could have bought real Canadian maple syrup and a Mountie hat. Next time I'll definitely buy those. Here are some pictures of the trip.

In Canada... where the moose are.

Riding carousels make me feel like a kid again. =D

SNOW?!?! In July?!?! Only in Whistler...

Hello! I'm Mrs. Humpty Dumpty.

Washington has pretty sunsets.

Ain't she just adorable?

Pretty pretty little lilies..

We stopped by the Weed Rest Area. Surprisingly, I saw no one toking up. Hmm.

My niece being gangsta...

Today is an awful day. But yesterday was much better. Khaing got us a free two hours of bowling at Lucky Strikes in Torrance. It was a lot of fun. We played girls vs. boys, but the girls' lane kept getting messed up.

After bowling, we went to Guppys Teahouse.

Monica and I shared their Coconut Butter Toast. It's so good, but you can only eat a couple bites of it since it's so rich.

Aahh, free bowling, friends and Asian-ish food makes for a fun day.

Juror number 5289? Here.
For the past two days I have been serving my civic duty. The first day wasn't too bad. It went by quicker than I expected. I made friends with a few women sitting next to me. It was a little weird at first because most of them were old enough to be my mom. But somehow I got along with them well. We went to lunch at Japanese Village. While walking there, I talked to another potential juror who was trying to find a place to eat. I got along better with her because she was only a couple years older than me. After lunch, I got called into a case and stayed in the courtroom for the rest of the day. I had to come back the next day. I was so mad, but I wasn't too mad because overall it was a good day.
After getting home, I went to hang out with Megan and Bryan at the Grove. We ate, watched the water fountain show, and took "Who's Your TV Alter Ego" quizzes at Barnes & Noble.

Bryan knocked the whipped cream off my fork... and then I ATE IT! Just kidding.

This picture is just really funny to me. Aah, those fountains.

It was a long yet eventful day, and I knocked out when I got home.
I went back to jury duty today. And as my luck would have it, I got picked to serve on the jury. I got sworn in and everything. We took our lunch break, and I sat in the cafeteria, thinking about having to serve on a jury. I was a little mad, but the more I thought about it, it wasn't that bad. The trial was only for a couple days. I would only be in court for four hours, and I got a two hour lunch break. I was going to use that two hours to gallivant around and explore the city. I thought about the places I wanted to visit, like the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the MOCA, and the cathedral. I started getting really excited about it. When I got back to the courtroom, one of the jurors was missing. The judge sent us outside the courtroom to wait for him. He came 45 minutes late. When we got back inside, the judge said that she had to call for a mistrial, and all of the jurors were excused. I was a little sad that I wouldn't get to explore LA, but I was happy that I didn't have to serve anymore.
I wasn't sure what a mistrial was so I looked it up.
According to Wikipedia:

"A judge may cancel a trial prior to the return of a verdict; legal parlance designates this as a mistrial.

A judge may declare a mistrial due to:

  • The court determining that it lacks jurisdiction over a case,
  • Evidence being admitted improperly,
  • Misconduct by a party, juror, or an outside actor, if it prevents due process,
  • A hung jury, which cannot reach a verdict with the required degree of unanimity
  • Disqualification of a juror after the jury is impaneled, if no alternate juror is available and the litigants do not agree to proceed with the remaining jurors.

A declaration of a mistrial generally means that the court must hold a retrial on the same subject."

We were dismissed because of reason number 3. And so ends my service, at least for one year.

Weekends in Pasadena are "uber." Last night a few of us went to eat at Twin Palms in Old Town Pasadena. The atmosphere was nice, but the food wasn't as good as I expected. But their dessert platter of all their best desserts is amazing! Their creme brulee is the best thing ever!
After dinner, we walked around for a little bit then went to Cal Tech so Jen could give us a tour. Cal Tech is a creepy at night. It felt like someone was going to jump out of the bushes and attack us. Some random cat started following us but eventually found something else to occupy its time. Jenelyn led us to a pond that had lots of turtles living in it. Gian and Kevin were trying to disturb the pond so the turtles would come out so they could take one home.

I failed to take a picture of the sign next to the pond that said "Please do not take any animals from the pond."
Today Jen, Kristina, and I went to Mi Piace for brunch. I really like that restaurant. It's reasonably priced for delicious food. And their desserts are even better. I like their cheesecake a lot better than Cheesecake Factory's. We also went shopping around Old Town. What was supposed to be a thirty minute venture turned into one that tripled the time.
I'm kind of glad I'm going to be on vacation for three weeks because it will take the pressure off my wallet and bank account. I've been spending a lot of money these past several weeks on mostly food and other miscellaneous expenses. This is really bad because I have no income coming in this summer. Three weeks will help me save money for the last two months of summer after I get back. Even though my parents won't be on vacation with me, I still don't have to pay for myself. Haha! =D

Spending the 4th of July in Loma Linda is crazy! I'm glad Kristina had a pool because it was 102 degrees. Oh, am I looking forward to living there! Well there's not much to blog about the day. We ate, swam, played games, laughed, talked, watch fireworks on the way home, and had a grand ole time!

I might go to Ecuador. Earlier this summer Kris mentioned that he was going to Ecuador for a mission trip with Maranatha. I've been considering going for the past few weeks, but I haven't mentioned it to my parents yet. Kristina and Louvelle are also going, and Kevin is also considering. If I do go, I'll only have two days to unpack from Canada, do laundry, repack for Ecuador, and do errands since my dad is leaving for the Philippines. It will be really hectic. But it is a great opportunity for me to do mission work and to experience different things. We shall see.

From Sunday to Tuesday I went up north for my niece's 8th grade graduation. I love going up there because there are so many cute little kids, one of which is my 2 year old niece. She talks so much. It's true what they say about girls maturing before boys. She talks a lot more than her 3 year old cousin (this cute chubby-cheeked little boy).

My niece carries long conversations about the most random things, and it's just so darn cute. She says "Guys, don't worry about it. I'll help you." I don't know many 2 year olds that say that. She also sings a lot, so here's a clip of her singing.

By the way, I love my camera! I have been getting so much use out of it, and it takes amazing quality pictures. =D

Sunday, June 24, 2007

I haven't blogged in a while so I feel it is my duty to catch up on my summer. Nothing major has happened so far. I've just been spending time with friends and family and volunteering at the hospital. I volunteer at the medical library. My supervisor is Filipino so she is really chill and gives me lots of free food. Jenelyn and I have been trying to make stuff for our summer project, so I decided to make a pink, yellow, and gray mushroom. Isn't it pretty?

Tonight I went to Japanese Village with Kristina and Jenelyn. We ate a Frying Fish because that's the only place that makes salmon skin rolls that I like. We headed over to a party hosted by Kevin and Joe. It was a Glendale party, but it ended up being a SGA reunion.

There was this one girl (who happens to be lesbian) kept grinding and dancing on me. I was a bit uncomfortable so Sheila tried to hide me. Haha!
While we were leaving to go home, we had a little PTC reunion, minus Mark. We were like gangsters because we were hanging out on the street next to a car in the middle of the night. Yeah!

I got to use my new camera a lot tonight. I finally got my Canon Powershot SD750 on Wednesday. I'm really happy that I got this camera because it takes really good pictures.
OK. I have to finish packing. I am going up north tomorrow for my niece's graduation. Yay!

SUMMER VACATION!! I'm done with La Sierra! Not to say that I haven't had some good times there, but two years there was more than enough.
My biochemistry test went better than I expected. For the final, we have two tests: one from our teacher over the two chapters we haven't been tested on and a standardized cumulative one from the ACS (American Chemical Society). As usual, I procrastinated and only studied for two hours right before the test. But it's OK because I got a 94 on the regular test and a 97 on the standardized. Haha, that's funny. I've always wondered how it would be like to just wing it on a science final, and I kind of did it.
I was the first one to check out of the dorm out of us girls. It was a little sad to see my side of the room empty. I was not sad to say goodbye to LSU, but I was sad to leave the girls. Briggitte has been my roomie for the past two years, and it's going to be a little weird not seeing her all the time. I'll see Giselle in the summer and hopefully at LLU. I'm not sure what Connie will be doing so I don't know when I will get to see her. I'm going to miss gossiping with her. She brings out the true girl in me. Haha! I'll miss all of them.
After my parents picked me up, we went to Loma Linda to scout out some apartments for me. It was so hot! I am soo looking forward to living there for the next two to three years of my life, and maybe even more. Gah.
Well, I'm glad that I don't have to think about school work for at least three months. Now I just need to figure out things to do to occupy my time.

My CUMULATIVE biochemistry final is in a little less than twelve hours, and I haven't studied anything. Good job, Jennifer. =D

Best dead week ever. Well, it was really good compared to the five others I have experienced. On Monday I passed my Japanese final. But it was a lot easier than I thought it would be, but that class is already so easy. I just had to read a chapter of the Bible in Japanese. I read like a first grader.
On Tuesday I went to Starbucks with Blossom after class. Yumm! Then Chris, Jenelyn, and Khaing came to visit. We all ate at the Korean restaurant near school. I really like that we get free ice cream after the meal. Blossom, Jen, Khaing and I watched a Filipino movie in my dorm. The funny thing was that Khaing understood more of the movie than Jenelyn did, and Khaing isn't even Filipino! After the movie, Jenelyn and I took random pictures.

Khaing didn't want to participate in our antics, so she was our photographer. We went to eat at Frostbites then went to Michaels and Best Buy. I figured out what camera I am going to buy. Canon PowerShot SD750. I like the picture quality, the features, the size, the style, and the price. I am still deciding when to get it because I'm actually paying for this camera myself. Khaing and I played with the cameras on the Macs.
Aah, good times. =D
Wednesdays are usually my bum out days because I have no class, but this week I was actually productive. I helped Mamiko with her class presentation on the book of Revelation. Every person in the class had a verse and had to present it in a creative way. This one girl tore her shirt open to represent Revelations 17: 16. That was slightly uncomfortable.
Thursday was an exciting day. And it all started with a very refreshing nap in the afternoon. After my nap, Connie and I went to go get free Subway sandwiches and Jamba Juice from SALSU. I love that SALSU always provides us with Jamba Juice or Starbucks during dead week. It wasn't enough to fill me up though so Connie and I went to Hotlanta for some hot wings. But before we could go, Sheila called me and told me that her, Byron, and Mike Ha were at the LSU gym. Mike looks different. His hair is very Spanish-like, and he got more tanned. He looks like Rico Suave. I feel like he should be speaking in a deep Spanish accent. Then he grabs your hand and spins you around while salsa music is playing in the background. After Hotlanta, Connie and I went to the nice and expensive Esplanade apartments next to LSU to use their jacuzzi and pool. It felt really good to swim. Connie and I then went on a late night Starbucks run. It felt like last year. All that was missing was Cold Stones and the mall. It was a really good day.
On Friday I had a Religion final that I only studied twenty minutes for. It was one of those classes that if you grew up SDA, you don't need to study. But when I got to class, our teacher announced that we weren't going to have a final. We didn't need one. He's one of my favorite teachers I've had, and I'm not just saying that because he didn't give us a final. When he teaches, you can tell that he really loves God and has a close relationship with Him.
And that is my best dead week ever. I have one final this week: biochemistry. I am not looking forward to the ACS test.

Tuesday, June 05, 2007

It's 6:44 am, and I am wide awake. I've been up since 4:50 am for no reason at all. I just woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. I tried to, but I kept thinking of Japanese writing characters. As I pictured them in my head, I tried to read them. I think it's because I had my Japanese final yesterday. Then my stomach started to growl so I drank some soy milk. I still couldn't go back to sleep, so now I'm waiting for the cafe to open so I can get some breakfast. I'm so excited! I haven't gotten to get breakfast in a while, and the breakfasts here are pretty good.
I've feeling a little emo for the past 24 hours. All I've been listening to is "The Fear You Won't Fall" by Joshua Radin and "It Was Love" by The Elected. Strangely, I haven't gotten tired of either of the songs. Yesterday started off well because I got to see a lot of people at SGA's graduation. At night things weren't so great. But today I ate the most perfect apple, thanks to Connie! Well, it was perfect to me. It had the perfect combination of sweet, sour, juicy, and crunchy. I think that made my day. =D

I was on www.postsecret.com and saw a couple cards that caught my attention.

I think everyone feels this way sometimes.

But I think it's harder when you have no idea what it is you want or don't know what to expect. Ay buhay..

Sunday, June 03, 2007

I think that things need to start changing in my life.

Tuesday, May 29, 2007

This weekend was exhausting. I went up to San Francisco for my cousin's graduation, and I got a little sick. It was due to the lack of sleep three nights in a row and that it rained while we were at an outdoor graduation. Then I came back down for my other cousin's graduation from med school at LLU. The guys in the med program are cute! They make me not mind marrying a doctor. Haha! Just kidding.. I'm not shallow.

There are two more weeks of school. I'm so happy! I'm getting really anxious for it to be over. I can't wait for summer to come.

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

There was an earthquake here in Riverside just now. It was kind of scary because I've never been in one while not being at home. All of us grabbed our stuff in case there would be another one. Haha!
At 10:29 PM tonight, I found out that I got accepted to Loma Linda University School of Nursing! My mom called me to check up on me and casually slipped in that I got a letter from Loma Linda. I told her to open it, and she took her precious time opening it. I start in the fall! Yay! =D

Monday, May 21, 2007

It is not my day. Things have been going wrong all day, and I've just been so frustrated. I really want to complain some more, but I just don't have the energy.

Friday, May 18, 2007

I really wanted to change my layout because I thought my other one was too colorful. I figured that gray was a nice neutral color to go with. I don't know why I want my blog to look more and more dull/plain as time progresses. This layout is a little boring, but I like it.

This past Thursday SALSU rented a photo booth so the students could take free pictures. Blossom, Giselle, and I passed by on our way back from our Financial Aid meeting and took some. We took four but these are the only ones we like. The other two were awful.

ć©ć†ć„ćŸć—ć¾ć—ć¦ (You're welcome) DOU-I-TA-SHI-MA-SHI-TE

That's my Japanese word for today. For the longest time I had a hard time saying that word, but today I somehow got it right.
There are four more weeks of school left, but only 12 days of actual class for me, excluding finals. I loathe all of you who are already or will soon be out of school for the summer. I can't wait until school is out. I will be done with La Sierra. Hooray!
I am attempting to pack some stuff to bring home so I don't have to do it all on the last day. Even with three bags full of stuff, my closet still looks like it's full of clothes. I underestimated how many clothes I have. Gah, I'm such a girl.

I've been seeing a lot of surveys on people's blogs. I like that everyone is reading other people's surveys and copying and pasting them onto their own. It's kind of fun. We must all be very bored.

Today was my LLUSN interview. Briggitte had to study so I drove her car. Her car's acceleration is so sensitive. I was averaging 85 and didn't even notice. It is so hot today. There is not wind, and it's so dry. I was wearing a full on pants suit so I was dying from the heat. My interview went well. My interviewer was really friendly and made me feel comfortable. But the interview was only ten to fifteen minutes long. People tell me it's around 30 minutes, so I don't know if the length of my interview is a good or bad thing. Well it's done now, and I am so relieved. I hated the anticipation of having to wait.

Saturday night I went to the Geisha House for Heidi's birthday. I got the Frightened Geisha and tried the Dynamite Roll. Their sushi is so fresh. I found my love for sashimi. The Geisha House has a really cool interior. The bar area looks so cool! Their party rooms are so nice, but it's $1000 to reserve one.

Before dropping Connie off, Brig, Connie, Vivi, and I took sticker pictures at Cue. Vivi is pro at decorating the pictures. The Chinese characters on the top right mean "Beautiful Girls."

Today Megan came to visit. We ate at the cafe, and it was a Cinco de Mayo theme. There was a Mariachi band and everything. We went to the mall to run a special errand for Connie.

My LLU interview is tomorrow. I'm really excited about it. I like one on one interaction. I feel nervous at first, but once I get into the room and settle in, I am more open and friendly. Wish me luck!

YAAAY!
For the past couple weeks I have been really stressed out and worried about Loma Linda. Before I could get an interview, all of my transcripts and recommendations had to be turned in. They didn't have my PCC and LSU ones even though both school said they sent them in March. So I have been frantically trying to get them to resend them to LLU. The last day for interviews is on Tuesday so I had to get them turned in fast. LSU got there already, but I will still waiting for PCC. For the past week I've called LLU about it. I feel kind of bad, but it paid off because my PCC transcript came today. I was so relieved! My interview is on Tuesday at 12 pm. Wish me luck! =D

Bryan sent me the new EP from The Spill Canvas, and there is this one song that I really like.

Catch the Wind by The Spill Canvas

In the chilly hours and minutes of uncertainty
I long to be in the warm hold of your loving mind
To feel you all around
And to take your hand along the sand
I may as well try and catch the wind
When sundown pales the sky
I want to hide awhile behind your smile
Everywhere I'd look your eyes I'd find
For me to love you now
Would be the sweetest thing
Would make me sing
But I may as well try and catch the wind
When rain has hung the leaves with tears
I want you here to kill my fears
To help me leave all my blues behind
For standing in your heart
Is where I want to be, I long to be
But I may as well try and catch the wind

Yesterday was a fun day. The roomies had a girls night out. We ate at The Boat. I love their pad se ew and their green beans! We went to this one Japanese store. I really want to buy a Japanese magazine, but they are a bit pricey. I wanted to practice my Japanese reading skills and look at shoes and clothes. Ha ha! But I did get to buy cute pencils and mango and apple hi-chews. Then we went to Cue and took sticker pictures. Japanese sticker pictures are so much fun!

Today is not such a good day. Although I did get to sleep in until 12. School and transferring schools are getting to me. I cried to today. I cried! I don't cry! What the hell! I'm so tired.
This is why this is why this is why I'm hot!

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

We got a TV yesterday. It's a curse for me. All I do is lay on my bed and watch South Park or whatever DVDs we have. The TV hasn't been off since we got it. I'm lazy.

Taka: What's after 'ya'?
Me: It's 'ya ma.'
Taka: Yah, 'ma' is after 'ya.'
Me: Yah, 'ya ma.'
Taka: Ya?
Me: Yah, 'ya.'

Japanese class is so much fun! Today we took a break a break at 7:45. Connie, Taka, and I sat outside and talked until 8:50. It was supposed to be a 15 minute break, but we took an hour and five minute one instead. That's why I love that class. You can do whatever you want and at your own pace. When we got back to the classroom, everyone was busy doing their stuff. Us three sat down for five minutes, then the teacher told us all to take another break. Good times.

Sunday, April 08, 2007

Today I had CPR class. It was supposed to be from 8-5, but we got out early. I wondered why it was so long, and it's because we also did child and infant care. So now I am certified to do CPR on adults, children and infants. So if anyone goes into cardiac arrest, I can use a defibrillator on you and send a shot of electricity to your heart. Ha ha!

Tuesday, April 03, 2007

What a wonderful day! It was almost a perfect day, except for some intruders. Psh! My classes went by fast and I got out of lab early. My lab partner also gave me the answers to the post lab questions, and I didn't even ask her. Cool! I got to work out AND do homework AND take a nap. Briggitte and I went to eat at a new Salvadorian restaurant near school. Their pupusas were bomb! We went to target and got swim suits for $4! Amazing! We went to Taco Bell to get more food. Then we went on a hunt for "The Wizard of Oz." We've been really wanting to watch it since we watched "Wicked" so that we could correlate it together. We found it at the little movie store near school. We also rented "Casino Royale." Now Briggitte, Connie, and I are going to watch the movies. AND I don't have class tomorrow. WOOT!

Monday, April 02, 2007

My classes this quarter are pretty good. Biochemistry is going to be challenging. I'm going to have to study daily and work extra hard to get a the grade I want. Christian Beliefs is not bad. The professor is really funny. But my Japanese class is awesome! It's not like a class at all. It's more like a day care. Ha ha! We all split up, do whatever we want and go at our own pace. I'm also learning a little Chinese and Korean because of the people in my class. And my "lab" is to watch Japanese anime, dramas, or shows, or do something related to Japanese. I love it!

Saturday, March 31, 2007

Phew. I have survived spring break. I have one more day left, and I will be volunteering and returning to La Sierra. This spring break was stressful, at least more than all the others I've had. I had to take care of things for volunteering at the hospital which meant running around looking for various offices and people. Then I had to finish my Loma Linda application. It's due tonight, but I had to finish it before I had to take my entrance tests. I needed one more recommender and only had a couple days to find one. Damn my procrastination. My essay was missing some important points so I had to tweak it. I also had to study for my LLU entrance test. I hate science, math, reading comprehension, and English. I woke up at 6 am on Friday to get ready to head over to LLU. I didn't study much. I looked up some math equations online. That was it. I wasn't too nervous on the way there, but once I got onto the campus, I swear I was going to pee in my pants. Every time I see that campus, I get this weird twisty feeling in my stomach. I entered the School of Nursing building. Ronan and Stephen were already there so I felt more relaxed since I wasn't alone. LLU gives you two chances to take the test, but if you fail the second time, you can't take it for another year which means you can't enter to program for another year. But I want to be a nurse now! Ha ha. The tests took six hours. SIX HOURS! How can any human being sit in one stop taking tests for that long? We started 30 minutes late. The first test, the TEAS test, had four sections: reading comp, math, science, and English. It wasn't too bad. They gave me more time than I expected for each section which gave me time to relax between each section. The proctor was barely in the room. The whole test was on the computer and each person had different tests. You could move on from one section to another once you finished the previous section so I got to go at my own pace, somewhat. I finished in two and a half hours, but my head was hurting. I went outside to get my test score. I passed! I was so scared of that test because most of the people I know fail it the first time. I wasn't ready to take the critical thinking test so I hung out in the halls. I saw Dennis, Kristina, and Louvelle. I hung out with them for a while then went back in to take the critical thinking test. I passed, but it was ridiculous!
"Poland is not a monarchy. After WWII no country was a monarchy. There are no more monarchies in the world. But we would be ignorant to not look at the Middle Eastern culture. What are these facts trying to prove?"
Then there were scenarios that were given to us, and they asked, "How do you evaluate the conclusion? Good because the facts are state correctly. Good because it points out all the flaws of the argument. Poor because... or Poor because..."
What the hell! I hate thinking critically. The weird thing is that I got a high score on it, but I had no idea what answers I was putting down. Then I had to take a personality test. After all that, my brain was fried. Kristina offered for me to stay over at her house and we would go to LA in the morning. I just had to wait for her to finish with something. I chilled with Dennis, and he gave me a tour of the Nursing building and the Med Center. The School of Nursing and School of Pharmacy share the same building. After taking my tests and turning in my application, I feel more comfortable at LLU. Dennis, Kristina, Louvelle, and I ate at Chipotle. Us girls hung out at Louvelle's room for a while, then I went to Kristina's house. I watched Babel, and I do not like that movie.
Today I went with Khaing and Kristina to Pink's and Pinkberry. We also went to USC to watch the Filipino Club perform a play of the Korean movie "My Sassy Girl." We left at intermission because it wasn't very good. Now that my Loma Linda stuff is over, I can finally relax, with one day of vacation left.
This is a long post.. sorry.

Thursday, March 29, 2007

I'm trying to study for my LLU test tomorrow, but all I can think about is pho.

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

I FINISHED MY LOMA LINDA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF NURSING APPLICATION!! Finally.

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

Half of my spring break is gone. Damn.

Monday, March 26, 2007

"This is a new song. It's called 'Connect the Dots' and it's about sex."

Yep. Tonight I went to a Spill Canvas concert with Bryan at the Glass House in Pomona. It was an awesome concert! The crowd was really into it which got me really into it. I made use of my "rocker hair," as Connie would call it. When Spill Canvas went on, I almost crapped my pants. No, I didn't, but I was really excited. I got really into the last two songs, "Lust a Prima Vista" and "All Hail the Heartbreaker." "All Hail the Heartbreaker" was the only song I really wanted to hear because it's my favorite. My voice is almost gone, I can barely hear anything, and my feet hurt, but it was soooo worth it!
The bands that went before them kind of sucked. The first one was The Color Turning. They scared me. The whole time there was red light on them, and it didn't help that when the lead singer sang, he looked like Satan. Because of the red light, it looked like they were descending down to hell. But the funny part was that they had some video clips playing in the background, and it was of a girl in a grassy field picking a dandelion. Somehow hell and dandelions don't mix to me.
The second band was Cosmonaut. For half of their set, I didn't know who they were. Finally they said who they were, and I heard a bunch of people behind me say "Oh, that's who they are!" So I wasn't the only person lost.
The third band was... interesting. They were called The Oohlas. The lead singer was a girl, and she reminded me of a Jack O'Lantern. Her hair was orange, and she had large dark eyes. She made these weird facial expressions when she sang and had a really weird voice. The girl was moving around so much that she fell over. That was pretty funny.
Regardless of the sucky bands, Spill Canvas made up for it.

I need a firmer hand shake.
Yesterday I went to Hollywood and Beverly Hills with Daryl, Erin, Khaing, and Kris. On our way to Pink's, Khaing almost ran over a woman and her baby. It was scary at the time, but it became the joke of the day. At Pink's, I got the Ozzy spicy dog. It had the hardest time eating it because it was huge, messy, and spicy. But it was worth it. Daryl and Kris tried this old soda called Bubble Up. I don't usually like soda, but this one I really like. So that's the second soda that I actually like. We went to Pinkberry. I got a medium plain with blueberries, kiwi, and mango. YUM! Khaing wanted to go to Sprinkles so she could buy a box. I love their cupcakes! They are a bit pricey but worth it. We walked around Beverly Hills to kill time. There are a lot of asians there. I want Pinkberry again!

SPRING BREAK!!

Winter quarter 2007 is finally over. It went by really fast, but the end brought me a lot of stress. But now it's spring break so I can enjoy my life for the next two weeks. I have an extra long spring break because my finals ended early. Tomorrow I'm going to Hollywood with Khaing and Kris. Pink's hot dogs, Pinkberry, and Sprinkles here I come!

I hate finals.

Monday:
8 am - Chemistry (Stupid American Chemical Society!)
6 pm - Nutrition
Tuesday:
11 am - Sociology

I don't have many finals, but there is a lot of pressure for me to do really well on all of them.

I have my schedule for next quarter. I was going to take SCUBA, but it's an extra $200. Forget that! I didn't need it anyway.

Mondays... I have a 7 hour break, haha.
9-10 am: Biochemistry
10-11 am: Christian Beliefs
6-10 pm: Japanese
Tuesdays...
9-10 am: Biochemistry
10-11 am: Christian Beliefs
12-3 pm: Biochemistry Lab (only every other week)
Wednesdays...
No classes
Thursdays...
9-10 am: Biochemistry
10-11 am: Christian Beliefs
Fridays...
10-11 am: Christian Beliefs
Sunday, April 8 I have CPR from 8 am - 5 pm
Staying over LSU for the weekend hasn't been so bad. On Friday I went with Giselle to Walmart. We went to this little Asian fashion shop nearby. I got some cute black peep toe pumps. We ate at the Hawaiian BBQ place across the street. When I got back to the dorm, Briggitte suggested we got to First Service. The speaker was really funny. In the dorm, I looked at pictures from high school. It was so funny!

Today I went to church. Dan Smith is a good speaker. I waited for Kris and Daryl to come pick me up. They were both bored in LA so they asked if they could come over. We went to eat at Alberto's. Their California burrito is so good! Kevin wasn't picking up his phone so we decided to wake him up at home. We waited in front of his house for ten minutes only to figure out that it wasn't his house. Ha ha! We went to the right house and woke him up. After going to the mall and randomly walking around, we met up with Byron at LSU. Byron, Daryl, Kris, and I went to Newport Beach to meet up with Kris' Walla Walla friends. Our bonfire started off a little slow, but we figured it out after a while. I got to My throat hurts a little because I was yelling so much. Kris' friends are really nice and very friendly.

This has been the most chill weekend before finals I have ever had. I haven't even started studying yet. I hope to study for chemistry all day tomorrow. We'll see if I really do.

God, please help me before I kill myself, or someone else.
I heard back from the hospital I'm going to volunteer at, and I will be working in the ER. I'm excited!
Today I went to watch 300. It's a really good movie. It's not as violent as I thought it would, but I think that is because I prepared myself for it. The nipples in that movie are so erect that it kind of scares me. =/

A little pissed off..

Thanks for everything.

Friday, March 09, 2007

I'm staying over at the dorm this weekend, and I'm already starting to feel bored. But I'm going home Tuesday because I have an interview at the hospital. I'm excited!

Thursday, March 08, 2007

Congratulations to Khaing for getting into Cal Poly and to Jenelyn for getting into Caltech's summer program! =D

Today was the worst day ever. There was a Loma Linda meeting for nursing and ROTF. I sat there and started to feel like crap. If you fail two classes while in the program, you get kicked out. And get this, 77% is failing! I've never gotten a C in college, but Loma Linda is so much harder. I still need to do so much by the 31st. I need to get 2 more recommendations, get my transcripts sent out from LSU, PCC and LSU, and take the TEAS and CA Academic Press tests. TEAS tests you on math, reading comprehension, English, and science. The CA Academic Press test is a critical thinking test. I can only take them two times, so basically, if I fail both times, I have to wait a whole year to reapply to LLU. Gaah, I'm so screwed!

I have a five page paper due tomorrow, and I haven't started it yet. I haven't even done my research yet. I spent two hours avoiding this paper. I vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom sinks, the toilet, and the shower. Now I'm blogging and watching Grey's Anatomy. Whee.

I hate school.

I'm having a really hard time deciding whether to take Japanese or Korean next quarter. I've always wanted to learn Japanese, but I've been exposed to the Korean language more. Maybe I should take Japanese so I know a little of both languages. Or maybe I should take Korean because I know more of the language. And I have a lot of Korean friends so I could just ask them to tell me words and phrases. I guess I'm leaning more to Japanese, but the whole Korean thing is still holding me back from making up my mind. Any suggestions?

Saturday, March 03, 2007

I got a jury summons today. Fuck.

Friday, March 02, 2007

Fin?
For the past hour and a half or so I've been laughing my butt off. I was watching some videos off of happyslip.com. I'm not hating on my own race, but I like laughing at the things we do. I started to read all the entries for stupidconvos. It makes me happy to see my friends' and my own idiocy in the past.

I got advised today for Spring quarter. Since it is going to be my last quarter and I am done with my requirements except biochem, I have choices of what classes to take. So far I have biochemistry, biochem lab, Christian Beliefs, and CPR. I can either take Music Appreciation, Japanese, Korean, and/or SCUBA. I have a little less than a month to decide, which is plenty of time.

I only have 8 more days of classes left, plus two days of finals. WHEE!

This is the most precious picture ever! She's so adorable!
(click menu then babies)

I think this is so hilarious! I almost cried. It's supposed to be a sad video.

Sunday, February 25, 2007

I'm starting to really hate my blog layout.

Thursday, February 22, 2007

I'm so sore. It hurts to move.

Wednesday, February 21, 2007

I'm exhausted. I went up to Mountain High with my skiing class today. It was so much fun! The adrenaline rush is awesome! I love going fast, I just can't go on steep places. I'm so tired right now. I'm going to be sore in the morning. And my nose got a little sunburned, but it doesn't hurt. I just look like Rudolph.

Monday, February 19, 2007

Yesterday was so much fun. I'm still a little tired from it. Kristina and I went all over Hollywood. Our first stop was this vintage store where we got $1 dresses. It takes a lot of time and patience to go through all the clothes, but it was worth it. We were really hungry so we headed over to Farmer's Market. I love that places. They have really good food. We went over to Robertson Blvd. and looked at some of the stores there. I don't think I'm quite ready to shop there yet. Maybe after I start being a nurse and make some money. We got a little hungry again because we didn't eat much earlier, so we went to Pink's. It's a famous hot dog stand in Hollywood since 1939. The line was so long. It took us more than an hour to get our hot dogs, but it was worth it. Now I understand why it's so popular. After we got our fill on hot dogs, we went to Melrose Blvd. and shopped at Urban Outfitters and other vintage stores. Melrose has a lot of really inexpensive clothing stores. The Urban there was not too great so we went to Pasadena. I got some really cute gray flats. We went to Japanese Village to eat sushi, get snacks, and Italian yogurt. Kristina and I went back to my house and tried on the clothes we got. We were both exhausted but still managed to watch "Little Manhattan." I like that movie. It was the sixth time I've watched that movie. It was a really good day. Hollywood is only 15 minutes away from my house. I don't know why I don't go there more often.

Roses are red. Violets are blue. Whatever.
Happy Singles Awareness Day! I guess today wasn't too bad. Tonight I went to dinner with Blossom, Connie, and Kevin. It was fun, especially since Kevin paid. I got candy today from Keenan and the Student Association. Not a lot happened today, but the little things made me happy.

WICKED!!
Yesterday Briggitte and I went to the Pantages Theatre to watch WICKED. I thought listening to the soundtrack over and over again would kill the whole show for me, but it turns out that I knew nothing about what was really going on. This play is at the top of my favorites, along side with Lion King. The entire cast delivered a strong performance. The woman who played Elphaba, Eden Espinosa, was amazing! She has such a wide range, and her voice was strong. The cast was amazing, but the plot was what made the play even more amazing. The creator is this play was very smart. It incorporated a lot of the movie into the play. It was smart, intelligent, and witty. I didn't expect it to be as funny as it was. There were a lot of twists in this play. Aah, I love it. On the way home, Briggitte and I could not stop talking about it. I want to watch it again! I recommend anyone who is able to watch it, to do so. It's amazing!

Wednesday is Valentine's Day. Ugh. I hate it.

Sunday, February 11, 2007

Today Kevin and I went to Erin's birthday kickback. There was not much to do except eat and play Wii. Erin had some really good Cold Stones ice cream cake, and I mentioned to Kevin that I had a $5 off Cold Stone cakes. We impulsively decided to go and bought a medium round Cookie Dough Delirium. Yum! We rationalized that it was for our birthdays. We passed the vintage store, Dee-lux. Everything was 50% off because they were closing down. I got some GAP jeans for $8.50. Woot! Kevin got a bunch off clothes too. The cake and the shopping was like a mini belated birthday celebration for us two. Now I have so much cake here in the dorm. I still have some leftover cake that Connie gave me, and now I have ice cream cake. Ah, diabetes. =D

Friday, February 09, 2007

I'm tired. I need to catch up on my sleep this weekend. I kind of caught up last night but stupid Ian woke me up. Last night I was waiting for Connie finish homework so I could help her study for A&P. I was laying on my bed, and the next thing I know it's 5:30 am. I was so tired because I didn't get enough sleep the night before. I had a organic chemistry test to study for. I got a 97% on it so it was very much worth it.
Today I officially met Khaing's boyfriend, Ian. Khaing, Ian, Byron, and us LSUers went to eat Korean food. Yum! Now I'm going to take a nap because I have food coma and need to catch up on sleep.

Tuesday, February 06, 2007

Connie is having a bad day today. I had some paper that was just laying around so I decided to make her a card that said "I hope you feel better Connie. I believe in you!" I gave it to her, and she started crying. Her crying made me start crying. I've never had the opportunity to do something for someone and have them cry tears of joy. I'm glad she appreciated my simple gesture. I love you Connie! =P

Monday, February 05, 2007

I can't do it anymore. I can't... I just can't. I can't read anymore sociology. I've been reading Chapter 8 Racial and Ethnic Groups for over three hours. My brain can't take it anymore. So I'm taking a little break. I brushed my teeth then went outside to sign-in. While I was out there I saw a bunch of couples. Couples aren't so bad, but these were the couples that made me feel uncomfortable. I guess you'd have to know the inner workings of the LSU student body to understand what I mean. Eww. Back to sociology. Five and a half more pages to go..

I'm 20! I am no longer a teen. It's exciting entering a new decade, but somehow I feel I need to be more responsible about my life. Gaah.
This past Saturday I spent my last day as a teen with Steph. We went to Citadel. I wanted to buy these shoes but ended up getting disappointed. We went to Japanese Village to eat ramen and Italian yogurt. I bought a really cute necklace at the vintage store. Steph and I walked around and caught up.
The next day I went to the Disneyland Hotel with Khaing, Briggitte, Giselle, Heidi, and Vivi. We ate at Goofy's Kitchen. The buffet was a bit pricey but very much worth it. All of us sat there for a while after the meal because we couldn't move. Giselle and I walked around Downtown Disney for a little bit then went back to Riverside.
When Connie got back to the dorm she surprised me with a strawberry cake. It was so cute!
I would like to thank everyone who wished me happy birthday today. It was a good 20th birthday. =)

Saturday, January 27, 2007

I started watching a new drama. But this time, it's Japanese. It's called Hana Yori Dango. It's a lot more dramatic and intense than all the other Korean ones I've seen, which is weird because I thought Korean dramas were the most dramatic of all.

Thursday, January 18, 2007

I seem to be getting hurt a lot for the past couple of days. While opening my closet door, I stubbed my toe on the door and part of my nail broke off. It didn't bleed, but it hurt for a few hours. Then yesterday I saw the the tip of my pinky nail broke off. A few hours later that same pinky started to hurt. This morning it was swollen. I don't even know how it happened. The I found a couple scratches on me. Aah, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Tuesday, January 16, 2007

I am so bored! I'm in my robe and just laying around. That's going to be me for the rest of the quarter. I don't have any homework in my classes except for chemistry once a week. I guess I shouldn't be complaining that I don't have a busy load, but I am just so bored. There is nothing for me to do. Gaah.
This week I only have five hours of class. This week is going to be very relaxed. =)
Today I bought a 2007 Disney Princess calendar for my desk. It looks like this. I realized that Jasmine wasn't on the front cover, which is strange because Jasmine is one of the main Disney Princesses. Then I realized that all the white princesses were on the cover. Disney is racist! I guess that's not such a big surprise, but it's just interesting how they show it through their products.

Thursday, January 11, 2007

I am so happy! Giselle gave me my Christmas present today. She got me this cute tank top that I really like. But there is more! She got me Stewie and Brian pens. AND she also got me a Pandapple contact lense case! YAY! It's pink. It looks like a little compact with a mirror inside. Then there is a compartment for the contact case and a little bottle for the solution. It's so cute! I'm happy! =)

I HATE LAB! I HATE LAB! I HATE LAB! ooh, did i mention I HATE LAB!
F*** organic chem! F*** molecular models! F*** butane! F*** lab! >:O
This quarter is going to be the easiest quarter I am ever going to have. I can only take 12 units this quarter so that I have enough classes to take next quarter. I take Intro to Organic Chemistry, Sociology, Nutrition, and Skiing. My chemistry class is just like last quarter, and lab is only ever other week. Sociology is really easy. We have 4 tests and one project, and that's all we have to do in that class. For Nutrition, we only meet 8 times this quarter. We have 2 tests, one in class and one take home. Then we have 2 group projects. I think Nutrition is my easiest class. Then I have Skiing. My first class is going to be on Wednesday so I don't know how that's going to be. Mondays are my busiest days because I have three classes. The rest of the week I have two or less. On Fridays, I don't have class. And this Monday we don't have school so I get to have a four day weekend! I have so much free time this quarter. I think I'm going to love it.

Monday, January 08, 2007

I realized there are many things I want. I need none of these items, but it would be fun to have them.

-Vans: I can get them for $30, so I most likely will. I'm debating on which color to get. I'll probably get the off white one, but the green jungle looking one is nice and would be cool to have.
-Pandapple items: Sanrio has a new character called Pandapple. I really like it because I like both pandas and apples. I want the pen, the inflatable seat, and the mini plush. =)

Sunday, January 07, 2007

Vacation is over. It's been a really good. I don't want school to start, but I'm glad to be back in the dorm. Roomie chaos. I hate school. I am not ready to go back to school, even though I have easy classes. It's been a good break.

I missed Briggitte, Connie, and Giselle. End of story.. especially Briggitte. =)

Tuesday, January 02, 2007

... and now I'm angry.
I am currently at Pasadena Public Library trying to figure out what to do for the next 35 minutes. I just finished working on the first draft of my essay for Loma Linda. It took me two hours to write less than a page and a half. The essay has four questions and has to be limited to about a page. How do they expect me to do that? I have so much I want to say, but I can't because of a stupid page limit! Aah, my head hurts.

Monday, January 01, 2007

aah, i'm sad.

Sunday, December 31, 2006

It's almost midnight, which means it's almost 2007. 2006 was a really good year, but I'm really looking forward to 2007. Good-bye 2006.. Hello 2007! (I think I said that last year too.) =D
